The Debut Nightmare: When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? (2019)

Released on March 29, 2019, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? arrived when Eilish was just 17. She wrote it with FINNEAS, who produced the entire record in his small bedroom studio in Highland Park, Los Angeles. The album fused electropop, avant-pop and industrial textures, and its lead smash Bad Guy topped charts worldwide. In 2020, aged 18, she swept the four biggest Grammy categories in a single night, the youngest artist ever to do so. The cover, all sickly greens and blank white eyes, is instantly readable across a room and a natural anchor for any music wall. Tracks like Bury a Friend and When the Party's Over turned quiet dread and vulnerability into stadium-sized moments, and the artwork carries the same off-kilter tension.

The Reckoning: Happier Than Ever (2021)

Happier Than Ever, out July 30, 2021, traded the debut's horror-movie sneer for something slower and more adult. The old-Hollywood cover, soft blondes and warm sepia tones, mirrors a record that moves from hushed ballads to the pop-punk fury of its title track, a video Eilish directed herself. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 238,000 units, 73,000 of them on vinyl, one of the biggest vinyl weeks in decades. Singles Your Power, Lost Cause and NDA carried its quieter, more confessional voice.

Full Bloom: Hit Me Hard and Soft (2024)

Hit Me Hard and Soft, released May 17, 2024, is her most expansive record. Written and produced with FINNEAS in his home studio between October 2022 and February 2024, it was issued as a single cohesive body of work with no lead single, ten tracks that fold from soft to hard and back. Birds of a Feather reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and carries what Eilish has called the highest belt of her career, while Wildflower earned a Song of the Year nomination. The underwater cover art, a body sinking toward a lit doorway, is the most painterly of the three and the most rewarding at large sizes. It sits at the end of a run of records that took Eilish from teenage newcomer to one of the defining voices of her generation, and printed large it earns its place as the centrepiece of a wall.

Sizes and framing
