Why Arctic Monkeys fans choose Posters Base

We print for people who know the difference between a poster and a placeholder. Every Arctic Monkeys print is produced borderless on heavyweight 200gsm matte paper, so colours stay deep, blacks stay black, and there is no glare when a lamp hits the wall. The ink reaches every edge, which is what makes a cover like the AM waveform read cleanly from across the room.

Sizing is yours to control, from A4 for a shelf cluster to A1 for a single statement piece, and every print can be finished in an optional frame: black aluminium for a modern room, chrome for a brighter accent, or oak for warmth. Printing and delivery are handled locally in your country, so your order arrives faster and flatter, without the long wait and the crumpled corners.

Best of all, building a wall costs less than you think. Buy 2 posters and get 1 free, which makes a three piece gallery of your favourite albums the easy place to begin. Pick the records that soundtracked your life, choose your sizes and frames, and let the covers do the rest.

Good to know about Arctic Monkeys

  • Arctic Monkeys formed in 2002 in High Green, a suburb of Sheffield, when school friends Alex Turner and Matt Helders got guitars one Christmas and started a band with Andy Nicholson and Jamie Cook. The northern city and its working class humour would shape Turner's lyrics for years to come.
  • Before any label deal, the band burned early demos to CD and handed them out free at gigs. Fans ripped the tracks and uploaded them to MySpace, and the online following snowballed into sold out shows. Arctic Monkeys became one of the first bands to break through largely via the internet.
  • The debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not takes its title from a line in Alan Sillitoe's 1958 novel Saturday Night and Sunday Morning, later a film. Turner spotted the phrase and felt it fit the record's defiant, watch what you want to see tone.
  • Released in January 2006, that debut sold 363,735 copies in its first UK week, more than the rest of the Top 20 combined, and became the fastest selling debut album by a band in British history. It went on to win the 2006 Mercury Prize.
  • For their third album Humbug in 2009, the band decamped to the California desert to record with Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme at Rancho De La Luna near Joshua Tree. The result was a darker, heavier, stoner rock turn away from their spiky early sound.
  • The AM cover from 2013 shows a single white sound wave on black, designed by Matthew Cooper from a sketch by Alex Turner. Look closely and the wave's peaks spell out the letters A and M, folding the album title into the very shape of the sound.
  • Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, released in 2018, is a concept album imagining a luxury resort on the Moon. Its title references Tranquility Base, the site where Apollo 11 landed in 1969, and Turner wrote most of it on a Steinway Vertegrand piano at his home in Los Angeles.
  • The closing track from 2007's Favourite Worst Nightmare, 505, became a viral phenomenon on TikTok more than a decade after release. Its slow build and the line about crumbling completely scored countless clips, pushing the song past two billion Spotify streams and beyond many of the band's official singles.
