About I Am > I Was Album Poster
Picture a narrow staircase wall, where a single sepia print catches your eye on every climb. This is the I Am > I Was album poster, and it rewards that slow, repeated look. A blurred, ghostly figure in a textured leopard-print jacket fades into charcoal and cream, while a white brushstroke smears straight across the eyes, leaving the face unreadable. Scratchy white lettering spells out Savage and I AM > I WAS, and beneath it sit a track list, colour swatches, a release date and an advisory label, just like the back of a record sleeve.
The muted monochrome palette keeps things calm, so the poster sits easily next to bare plaster, dark wood or a row of black and white photographs. It also suits a gallery wall, where its grainy texture gives the arrangement some grit.
Sizes run from A4 for a shelf or desk, to A3 for a hallway, A2 above a sofa and A1 for a full statement wall. It is printed on 200gsm paper, and you can choose no frame, a black frame or a white chrome frame.
How would this poster look next to other pieces from the same collection?
Hang it beside other Music Artist Posters from Legendary Icons Art and the monochrome sepia and charcoal tones of the ghostly figure will feel like a quiet counterpoint to brighter portraits. Its scratchy white lettering reads well as a visual anchor on a crowded wall.
Who would enjoy this poster as a gift, and for which occasion?
It suits someone who lives with a lot of rap history on their walls, especially a fan of British hip-hop who appreciates the smeared white brushstroke across the eyes. A birthday or a housewarming would both fit, since it reads as a considered, personal choice.
How should I hang and look after it?
Dust the frame gently with a soft, dry cloth and keep it away from damp rooms and direct sunlight. Hang it at eye level where you can see the pale lettering clearly, and avoid spots near radiators or steamy kitchens.
What can I expect from the paper and print quality?
The poster is printed on 200gsm paper, which gives the cream tones and charcoal shading a solid, slightly textured feel. The blurred edges of the jacket and the white scratches on the lettering come through with fine detail.
