Quincy Matthew Hanley, known worldwide as Schoolboy Q, emerged from South Central Los Angeles to become one of the most compelling voices in contemporary hip-hop. Born on a U.S. military base in Wiesbaden, Germany, and raised in California, he joined Top Dawg Entertainment in 2009 and helped define the label's golden era alongside Black Hippy collective members Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, and Jay Rock. With five Grammy nominations and a Billboard 200 number-one album to his name, Schoolboy Q's career spans gritty mixtape beginnings to mainstream breakthrough moments.
