Who Is Zinedine Zidane?
Zinédine Yazid Zidane, born in Marseille to Algerian-origin parents, is widely regarded as one of the finest attacking midfielders in football history. Across a glittering playing career at Cannes, Bordeaux, Juventus and Real Madrid, Zidane combined balletic technique with ruthless efficiency, lifting the 1998 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2000 with France, Serie A titles with Juventus, and a La Liga crown and UEFA Champions League trophy at Real Madrid. His 108 caps for Les Bleus yielded 31 goals, while individual honours include three FIFA World Player of the Year awards and the 1998 Ballon d'Or. After retiring, Zidane returned to the Bernabéu as manager and became the first coach in modern history to win three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles (2015–16, 2016–17, 2017–18), cementing his status as a visionary leader on and off the pitch.
