01The Voice of French Underground Hip-Hop
Demi Portion, born Karim Khaled in Melun, France, has been a quietly influential force in French hip-hop since the early 2000s. Working largely outside the mainstream, he built a devoted following through intricate wordplay, self-deprecating humour, and unflinching honesty about everyday struggles. His stage name (translating to 'half portion' or 'short measure') reflects both his physical stature and his refusal to conform to commercial expectations. Albums like Artisan du Bic and Poids Plume cemented his reputation as a lyricist's lyricist, while his collaborations with producers such as Soulchef and Deg brought depth and soul to the instrumental canvas. His work resonates because it speaks to the experience of feeling overlooked yet determined, small in stature but immense in ambition.
02What This Collection Celebrates
This collection of 14 poster designs honours the breadth of Demi Portion's discography, from early projects like Sous le Choc and 8 Titres et Demi through to later introspective works such as Petit Bonhomme, Mots Croisés, and Les Histoires. Each design is inspired by album artwork and the mood of the music: raw, reflective, and richly layered. You will find tributes to pivotal releases including Super Héros, Dragon Rash, La Bonne École, and Sous le Choc Vol 2, alongside the nostalgic 1990 and the intimate 2 Chez Moi. Every print captures the underground aesthetic that defines Demi Portion's visual and sonic identity, offering fans a way to celebrate his catalogue on their walls.
03Formats and Framing
Every print is produced on museum-grade 200gsm matte paper in four sizes: A4, A3, A2, and A1. Choose your preferred format: unframed for flexible display, framed in black for a classic edge, or framed in chrome white for a cleaner, gallery feel. The matte finish ensures minimal glare and maximum detail, letting the design speak without distraction.
