The story behind the cover
A golden head at the gates of a carnival
Shot by photographer David LaChapelle, the Astroworld cover turns Travis Scott into a giant golden inflatable head that forms the glowing entrance to a carnival-like amusement park. Children and other figures gather in a festive, dreamlike scene, bathed in warm colour and theatrical light. The image nods directly to the Six Flags AstroWorld theme park in Houston, the closed landmark of Scott's childhood. It is surreal, saturated and unmistakably cinematic, which is exactly why it rewards being seen large, printed edge to edge rather than cropped small on a screen.
Astroworld was Scott's coronation as a mainstream force. Named after the Houston park that shut in 2005, the record fused trap production with psychedelic and melodic textures, pulling in a huge cast that ranged from Drake and Frank Ocean to Stevie Wonder and Tame Impala. Sicko Mode became his first number 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The album drew widespread critical acclaim, landed on year end best-of lists for 2018 and earned a Best Rap Album nomination at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards, sealing Scott's place at the top of late 2010s hip hop.
Why this Travis Scott Astroworld print stands out
Museum grade, not merch grade
LaChapelle's cover lives on colour: the burnished gold of the inflatable head, the neon carnival glow and the tiny painterly details in the crowd. Cheap posters flatten all of that. Our giclee process holds the deep shadows and the metallic highlights so a large A2 or A1 print reveals texture you simply cannot see on a phone screen, turning a famous image into a real piece of wall art.
