Bom saber sobre Nike

The Nike Swoosh was drawn in 1971 by Portland State graphic-design student Carolyn Davidson, who billed 17.5 hours of work for a total of 35 dollars.
Phil Knight's first reaction to the Swoosh was famously lukewarm: 'I don't love it, but it will grow on me.' Nike later thanked Davidson with company stock and a gold Swoosh ring.
Blue Ribbon Sports, Nike's original name, was founded on 25 January 1964 by track coach Bill Bowerman and runner Phil Knight to import Onitsuka Tiger shoes from Japan.
The company split from Onitsuka in 1971 and renamed itself Nike, after the Greek goddess of victory.
The Nike Cortez, released in 1972, was the brand's first in-house running shoe and was designed by Bill Bowerman; it was originally called the 'Mexico' before a naming dispute with Adidas.
The slogan 'Just Do It' was created in 1988 by Dan Wieden of the Portland agency Wieden and Kennedy to unify Nike's first major television campaign.
In the decade after Just Do It launched, Nike's sales climbed from roughly 877 million dollars to 9.2 billion dollars.
The Air Jordan 1, designed by Peter Moore and launched in 1985, was flagged by the NBA for breaking its uniform policy; Nike turned the ban into a campaign and the line did around 55 million dollars in first-year sales.
The Air Jordan IV, designed by Tinker Hatfield, debuted at the 1989 NBA All-Star Game as the first Air Jordan released worldwide, carrying the Jumpman logo.
In 2017 KAWS reworked the Air Jordan 4 in grey suede with a glow-in-the-dark sole and an 'XX' heel tab, launching it at the Brooklyn Museum in New York.
Tinker Hatfield exposed Nike's Air unit on the 1987 Air Max 1, inspired by the see-through architecture of the Pompidou Centre in Paris; Nike Air cushioning dated back to the 1978 Tailwind.
